About
The Mather Wrestling Club was started as a non-profit dedicated to introduce the sport of wrestling to the youth of Rancho Cordova. It is our vision to build a competitive wrestling culture that extends into high school and beyond. The club is open to boys and girls between the ages of 9-14. The club activities provides fundamental training including take-downs, breakdowns, pinning combination skills, physical fitness, and sportsmanship.
We are excited to partner with the City of Rancho Cordova this year to bring the club activities to the youth of Rancho Cordova with a generous grant from the City's Community Enhancement & Investment Fund. The Mather Wrestling Club was chosen as one of more than 50 approved community projects submitted by a range of individuals, organizations, businesses and community partners. With funding, these projects will be brought to life and will showcase community investment and improvement. Each project fulfills a need in key community priorities, including arts, culture, history, entertainment and sports; education; and other community priorities. “Thanks to the Community Enhancement Fund grants, new and returning projects, programs and events will continue to make the City of Rancho Cordova a great place to live, work, learn and thrive,” said Mayor Robert J. McGarvey. “The grant program showcases our City’s spirit of partnerships as we work together to focus on community priorities.”
